The Yoshimura brand is not well-known among cyclists; however, in the power sports world, Yoshimura is a top producer of on- and off-road motorcycle exhaust systems. The company’s president, Yusaku Yoshimura, loves to use his mountain bike as a way to escape day-to-day business, but after carefully looking over his bike, he decided his company could make a better flat pedal than those currently available. Yusaku’s idea soon turned into another business with the launch of Yoshimura Cycling. Currently, the new division only makes pedals, but it’s possible we may see other components from Yoshimura in the future. This month we put Yoshimura’s Chilao pedals to the test.

Tech features:

Yoshimura puts the same attention to detail into its pedals as it does into its exhaust systems. In fact, each pedal has its own serial number. The pedal bodies are made from CNC-machined billet aluminum, while the spindles are made from heat-treated alloy steel.
