WES 2021 UCI E-MTB XC WORLD CUP SEASON OPENER

We take you on a virtual ride around the track

The 2021 and third WES racing season will be happening for WES (World e-Bike Series) athletes starting the weekend of the 24th and 25th of April in Monaco.

Due to COVID health rules, the first round will be closed to the public but can be watched remotely.

Our European correspondent, Alex Boyce, takes us through the track in this video:

There will be a broad range of experience present from 22 different racing teams. 10 Bike Manufacturers and 6 different Motor Makers will compete for the top rank and the end of season awards. Brands will be judged by the total racings points accumulated by their representative riders.

There will be young and more experienced riders, women and men all competing on the same tracks which will be found near Peille (France). Notable presences will include reigning UCI E-XC World Champion Mélanie Pugin (BH E-Racing Team) and specialist Jérôme Gilloux (E-Team Moustache) plus the 2019 WES XC Champion Sofia Wiedenroth (Specialized). Also, enduro star Remy Absalon (Scott SR Suntour Enduro Team) will be continuing his long race career in the two races scheduled for the UCI E-MTB XC World Cup at WES Monaco.

The next series race will be in Bologna, Italy on June 5-6.
