Super73 is today launching several new electric bicycles, including a kids’ e-bike, and even an electric motorcycle. Their new Adventure Series lineup of bikes is created for more radical riding, including off-road riding, featuring front suspension across the line, with full suspension available on higher-end models.

They’re including what they call “state-of-the-art” features, including more aggressive Super73 GRZLY tires, an extended performance seat with “gripper” vinyl, integrated lighting, and a lower-mounted battery (on the down tube) for a lower center of gravity and better handling.

“At SUPER73, we combine thoughtful design with features riders want on our vehicles. It’s a combination of form and function that sets us apart from the competition and the SUPER73 Adventure Series delivers in spades, so we’re excited to announce the new lineup is available now,” said LeGrand Crewse, SUPER73 CEO. “We are huge proponents of listening to our customer feedback, especially from our Super Squad, while understanding the critical details that take our product to the next level. We’re always evolving our product lineup to reach the widest array of riders possible, showcasing a steadfast commitment to current and new customers.”

WHICH LEVEL?

There are three different levels in the Adventure Series. The Super73 Z Adventure is the most inexpensive of the three, starting at $2695. Its battery is mounted under the seat, and it features an adjustable suspension fork, front fender, an 8-speed cassette, and hydraulic brakes.

The Super73 S Adventure adds a rear fender, relocated (lower) battery, and extended seat, and starts at $3595. The R Adventure features the same additions as the S model but adds a fully adjustable rear suspension and starts at $3995. All models are available in satin colorways Panthro Blue, and Sandstorm and two special edition colors, Corsetti and Snowshadow.

In my opinion, it seems that the $900 increase to the S level over the Z level isn’t worth the upgrade, but the R level, adding rear suspension, is worth the extra price if that’s within your budget.

FOR THE KIDS

The first motorized balance bike, Stacyc, came out a few years ago. Harley-Davidson liked the idea so much that they bought into the company and rebranded it as the IRONe (trust us, the irony of that name isn’t lost on us!). Super73 has jumped on the bandwagon with their nicely named K1D, but theirs matches the super-popular mini-bike-style design of the rest of their bikes.

It has no pedals, just adjustable pegs, a direct-drive rear hub motor that offers regenerative braking, and a 60-minute run time. The Lithium Iron Phosphate battery (LiFe PO4) boasts twice the battery life of other li-ion batteries and can fully charge in 45 minutes. If your kid outlasts one battery, you might want to have two to rotate ’em.

Regenerative braking is a really useful feature, when you roll off the throttle, it comes in and starts slowing down the bike. It aids in braking and truly does save your brake pads.

It has three modes so kids can start riding at slower speeds, then as they learn to modulate the throttle, it can be increased. The lower two speeds can be accessible by the rider, with a locked and secured third “track mode” for more advanced riders on closed courses.

As for styling, there’s a hexagonal pattern on the gum wall tires and the handlebar grips. Riders can choose between Blu-Tang, Sriracha Red, Obsidian, and Prickly Pink color options.

SUPER73 K1D youth series

“The technological advancements in the K1D youth series balance bike are groundbreaking from a safety, performance, and durability standpoint. We’re excited to announce the highly anticipated product has officially arrived,” said LeGrand Crewse, SUPER73 CEO. “At SUPER73, we’re focused on driving the technology of our products forward, while making it fun and safe for our customers. The launch of K1D provides us with an entirely new customer base of young, aspiring riders and we’re thrilled to be leading the charge in our industry.”

The bikes are available for pre-order for $1295 and will be available to customers in early June 2023.

C1X MOTORCYCLE CONCEPT

Today, April 1, 2023, Super73 is also showing off their electric motorcycle concept, the C1X.

We’re as yet not sure if the concept shown will be rideable, but we know it’s not an April Fools Day joke, as they’ve been taking pre-orders for a while now. Full specs and pricing have not yet been revealed. They’re claiming 80% charge in less than an hour using a standard J1772 plug, range of up to 100 miles and speeds up to 75 mph. Customers can reserve one for $73, and the final bike will start shipping to customers in late 2023.
