Stunning Electric Motorcycle With 300 Mile Range

Zaiser Motors

A startup in Colorado has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Wefunder.com. Their goal is to raise $500,000 to fund a working prototype of the Electrocycle motorcycle that they claim will have a 300 mile range and have a removable battery. It also uses two hub motors, one in each wheel. The two-motor system allows for auto stabilization and traction control.

SHE’S A LOOKER

The bike itself is stunning. It has classic, swooping lines with a bit of an edge to it. It’s a long-looking bike thanks in part to the massive 17.3kWh battery that is, in fact, removable. This big battery is why the bike claims a range of up to 300 miles, and the performance specs are impressive. The production bike should be able to do 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, and can go up to 120 mph. If you plan on driving at highway speeds, we expect the bike will have less range, maybe closer to 200 miles.

This will be the third electric motorcycle company based in the U.S., behind Zero and Livewire. There have been others, like Alta and Brammo, but those brands didn’t make it.

CONCEPTS FOR NOW

The bikes in the photos are concept bikes, not working prototypes. The crowdfunding campaign is to raise the funds to build that actual working prototype.

The expected price is just south of $25k. The projected launch of the bike is later in 2021 or sometime in early 2022, though we aren’t sure about that timing for actual production bikes. It will likely take months or a couple of years before production will scale. Either way, we can’t wait to get our grubby mitts on one for a ride and hopefully a review.

We’re going to be doing an interview with Zaiser founder and CEO Anthony Cross soon, and will be recording it for our podcast. Keep an eye out for that wherever you listen to podcasts.
