While some of our e-bikes have USB charge ports to keep your phone going for (power-hungry) navigation on rides, not all do. We often carry an external charger/battery for this reason. Even if you don’t use it all during the ride, it’s useful to top off your phone’s battery when you stop for a break. That also means bringing the right cable to charge it.

The $45 Charge Hub Go is the most elegant solution to this that we’ve yet seen. You can charge it up using a micro-USB or a USB-C cable. It has regular and micro-USB ports, a USB-C port, and two built-in cables that hide in the side, one USB-C and one Lightning for iPhones. There’s also a 5-watt wireless charge pad built-in on the front where the four charge LEDs are located. It’s 5000 mAh, enough to recharge most phones two to three times. It’s so versatile and always has the right option for charging, so this now lives in whatever bag or hydration pack we take on rides.
