OYAMA TWO-WHEEL DRIVE

Read The EBA Bike Review: Oyama 2WD Bike

I read your review on the preproduction Oyama 2WD with great interest. While drooling over the possibilities and my desire to purchase one, an idea that I believe would greatly improve the design awakened: What if the design team were to offer the front-wheel-drive as an on/off mode like a four-wheel-drive vehicle? It could be ridden with rear-wheel drive, possibly saving battery life, and then with the flip of a switch—voila!—add front-wheel drive! I tried calling the company to share this idea, but got nowhere. Perhaps you could share this notion with them?

Christini Bicycles AWD Bike

Roger, that’s an interesting idea in theory. I’m not 100-percent sure when that bike is going into production, but that would be something that could be programmed in, or it might have to have a hard switch externally. As far as a two-wheel-drive bike; the only one we know of that comes close is that being developed by Christini, who are already years-in with the production of a two-wheeled-drive motorcycle.
