The writeup [“First Look: Bosch Kiox”] in the June issue says a 16-tooth front sprocket. I’m confused. With that small a sprocket, how could anyone spin the cranks fast enough to reach 20 mph?

Hey, Gary, the way the Bosch CX motor works is that the front sprocket turns 2.5 times for every revolution of the cranks. It’s the equivalent of a 40-tooth sprocket. Changing one tooth on that sprocket is like two to three on a traditional one.
