FIRST LOOK: MONDRAKER CRAFTY RR SL

Our first day at the 2022 Sea Otter Classic had some understandable surprises. From e-bikes to more e-bikes the E scene has gained some traction and almost anybody who’s anybody has one to sell now. And if they don’t they are about to. The biggest jaw drop moment was when Mondraker told us the price of their new Crafty RR SL, $16,500!

Our mind was blown as it has been the last couple of years hearing astronomical prices of high performance e-mtbs. In some cases there isn’t even a feature that blows us away for the money. In the case of the Crafty RR SL the ticket feature is it’s low weight which is said to be 43-44lbs and fully wireless minus the brake cables. Mondraker already has a solid and reputable frame geometry with their Crafty line, but this one is the beauty everyone will be asking Santa for.

You may be saying, “oh yeah, we’ve seen and heard about the lighter e-bikes”. The difference though is that unlike the competition this is a full fledged all mountain performance based e-mtb with a whopping 750Wh battery and Bosch Gen 4 performance motor. We can’t stress how great it is to have that combination. Weight, power and battery all in one is something we really haven’t seen in full effect.
