Brent Foes E-Ticket Trail Bike

It was just over a year ago when we first laid eyes on the radical Foes E-Ticket e-bike (EBA, August 2019) designed by the world-renowned mountain bike frame builder Brent Foes. Brent’s legacy in the sport is one filled with some of the most radical and forward-thinking downhill bikes that the sport has ever witnessed. His bikes have not only won numerous races and championships across the globe, they are also the stuff that helped get Brent inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame in 2017.

Having been building all of his bikes out of his SoCal factory since 1993, Brent knows a thing or two about suspension, geometry and, most important of all, frame fabrication. THE NEWBIE

Like the first version, the E-Ticket relies on a Shimano STEPS E8000 motor, but now the powerplant is integrated into the frame, along with a 500Wh battery powerplant. Also, unlike the first bike, the new model embraces the latest mixed-wheel trend and rolls on a 29-inch front wheel and a 27.5-inch rear wheel. The different-sized wheel concept is gaining in popularity for providing improved cornering and control.

The bike is available in four sizes, and custom colors are another option. There are three models: the $6999 Box, $7999 Fox (pictured) and $9499 Rox. A frame kit with Shimano STEPS and shock starts at $4999. While we are waiting anxiously to conduct a full test on the Foes, we did get a one-shot chance to race the bike.
