Bosch Names Magura Direct As America’s Service Provider
Bosch has announced that Magura Direct, Olney IL, will be the exclusive service provider for Bosch eBike systems service, spare parts, dealer service hotline, warranties and training throughout the U.S.
Bosch and Magura are already very familiar with each other having partnered together for over 50 years on technical support and distribution efforts in varying industries. In Europe, Magura has successfully provided eBike service support for Bosch since 2011, helping elevate eBike sales in that market.
“We know for eBike sales to continue to grow in the U.S., retailers need and expect to have service support they can trust,” said Claudia Wasko, business unit leader of Bosch eBike Systems in the U.S. “Our partnership with Magura Direct creates the service infrastructure that will allow us to earn and gain that trust in Bosch both as a brand and in the OE partners using our drive systems.”
Magura Direct has been providing sales and service support of German engineered MAGURA suspension and brake products to the U.S. market since 1975. The company has two support vehicles travelling throughout the U.S. providing on-site technical support and clinics. In 2013, Magura staff conducted close to 600 clinics nationwide.
Bosch will leverage Magura Direct’s strong foundation in service and support to educate dealers on Bosch products. “Magura Direct has worked for years to provide comprehensive clinics and educate dealers around the country and this is exactly what Bosch needs in a partner,” said Jeff Enlow general manager of Magura Direct. “We have been on the road training dealers for 14 years, so this fits perfectly into our existing program, and there is synergy between Bosch and Magura to educate dealers.”
Wasko will establish a West Coast Bosch business unit focused on sales, marketing, and overall service for the North American market. Magura Direct will, in turn, manage the Bosch dealer service hotline, stock and ship spare parts to specialty bicycle retailers as well as handle warranty claims and provide regular training of IBD staff.
Bosch’s technical support services by Magura Direct are slated to begin September 1 of this year.
