Basso’s New Volta Road Bikes
BASSO VOLTA ROAD BIKE
Famed Italian road bike brand Basso Bikes is launching a new electric bike platform, called Volta, that is configurable as a road bike, a gravel bike or a city/commuter bike. It is based on Basso’s Palta gravel bike, and it is powered by a 250-watt Polini motor, which offers 70 N/m of torque, and a 500-Wh battery integrated into the downtube that they claim offers up to 220 kilometers of range (in level 1 with a 132-pound rider)
The bike features a made-in-Italy carbon frame with the same geometry as their non-assist Palta and is highly configurable, with options on the groupset, wheels, stem, crankarm length and more. They suggest simply changing tires and it’s ready for gravel, and by adding a rack using the built-in bosses, you can use it as a commuter.

Mountain Bike Action is a monthly magazine devoted to all things mountain biking (yes, that’s 12 times a year because we never take a month off of mountain biking). It has been around since 1986 and we’re still having fun.
