Yamaha has completely redesigned the CrossCore commuter bike for 2022. We had a chance to ride one recently in beautiful, sunny Southern California. It features a PWSeries ST Class 3 (28 mph) motor that truly does assist you all the way to 28 mph, improved geometry, an internal battery and more.
Yamaha’s new crosscore RC has been completely redesigned from the ground up, the geometry is improved from the original crosscore and a PWSeries ST mid-drive motor offers 250W nominal 500W peak output with 70 newton meters of torque. It’s a class three bike supporting you all the way to 28 miles an hour, and it uses their new quad-sensor system, including cadence, torque, speed and inclination sensors to change motor power output depending on whether you are climbing, descending or riding on flat ground. It has a 500 watt hour battery mounted internally. The drive train is a nine speed Shimano system with Shimano hydraulic disc brakes at $3,099. It is incredibly well priced. And the Yamaha motor system has proven to be incredibly durable and reliable. It is available now in the United States and Japan, in Shiver White, Urban Sage or Painted Desert.
