Cannondale announced their newest e-bikes, based on their own Treadwell bike. It’s aimed at the every day rider who wants to ride around the neighborhood, run errands, or just getting out to enjoy life.
The Treadwell Neo looksjust like the non-electric Treadwell, and it’s just as fun to ride. With its low standover height and dirt-track motorcycle inspired seat and handlebars, the Treadwell Neo has a comfortably relaxed style and riding position that encourages fun cruising, delivering real pedaling efficiency with the ability to easily put a foot down when stopped. The bike’s lightweight and discreet Mahle ebikemotion X35 drive system also offers the perfect amount of oomph to enhance the ride, without overwhelmingthe experience.
The ebikemotion X35 system consists of a compact 250W rear hub drive unit and a 250Wh battery hidden in the downtube (which is easily charged via a portin the frame). It offers three levels of assist, from a gentle helping hand, to serious hill-leveling, pedal-spinning, get-there-without-a-drop-of-sweat power, and more than enough range for a day’s worth of errands or joy rides. The system is controlled via a single, illuminated button conveniently located on the top tube, which lets you select the assist level, turn the power on and off, activate the lights and see the battery charge at a glance. It also keeps the handlebars free of wires and clutter.
All Treadwell NEO models are outfitted with the Cannondale Wheel Sensor and Intellimount stem, which offer riders a new way to connect with their bike and the ride experience. The sensor seamlessly pairs with a free Cannondale App, giving them access to speed, distance, calories burned and even carbon emissions saved. A secure mount on the stem allows riders to turn their smartphone into a real-time dashboard display. The Cannondale App also tracks maintenance needs and sends reminders when it’s time for a service, automatically registers the bike with Cannondale, and more.
There are two models of the new Cannondale Treadwell NEO, including an EQ version, equipped with a front rack, fendersand lights. Both models come in two frame styles –a low standover, easy-to-throw-a-leg-over Standard model, and an even easier to hop on, low toptube Unisex design aka Remixte. Available in sizes Small, Medium, and Large (Standard) as well as Small and Large (Remixte)
The Treadwell Neo and Treadwell Neo Remixte sell for $2300, The Treadwell NEO EQ and Treadwell NEO EQ Remixte are $2750.
