2200 Mile Journey of the Western U.S. on an Electric Bicycle
Susanne Brüsch, founder of Pedelec Adventures, was at the 2016 Sea Otter Classic at the Haibike booth to publicize her “Sand to Snow” ride, a 2200-mile ride starting from the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, CA, then stopping at the Electric Bike Expo in Palo Alto, California. She and her team then ride through Yosemite National Park and then descends into the lowest spot in North America in Death Valley. After that, it’s on to Las Vegas, then up through Utah to test the limits of the bikes through Monument Valley, Moab, Zion, Bryce Canyon, then climbing the Rocky Mountains on the way up to Denver for the Electric Bike Expo there, June 17-19, 2016.
Brüsch will have a support team with her, including a van that will often be nearby with battery charging capabilities, spare parts, etc. The riders are carrying two extra 400 Wh batteries on a Yamaha-powered Haibike SDuro Hard Seven that as you can see are LOADED with gear. Note the GoPro cameras on the bars. She is vlogging the trip as often as she can via her YouTube channel, Pedelec Adventures.
